Surprise

When God surprises you with twins.

RuthAnn Zimmerman got the surprise of twin calves. It is a pleasure to watch God in action. the birth is long but skipping will not hurt. the second one is close to the end.

This song Shekinah Glory is a great song to remember we wait for the Lord. Leave room in each day for the Shekinah glory to come down. It might be helping in a crisis or watching the birth of a calf with awe. Not having to race to the next thing on the list. We want more of you God. That is the truth of freedom. not being pushed to the next thing. Not being driven by the enemy to miss God's hand in life all around us each day.

Shekinah Glory

Question might be

What is freedom?

What is Joy?

Where have you seen the Lord moving in your life and in this world right now, that you were shocked by? Remember politics is okay discuss gently and kindly.

Fermenting the Word of the Lord

Digesting the Lord's Desire

Recently, I have had to learn to ferment food to fix a long-term issue with my digestive system.

Fermenting food takes a while for your system to like, but it seems to be important.

So, it is with the Word of God the bible. When I was young, I was fed the Word regularly I thought it was normal. Yet when i went to College I found out that not everyone read the Word nor had it read to them. Some would grab the bible and could not get enough, always asking questions. While others it was like when you have sauerkraut for the first time. That is not the best analogy. I asked my grown daughter why does my stomach ache? She told me you have to build up to it.

The bible is not something you need to build up to but it is something that you must let marinate in your mind, heart and soul to do its work. Often reflecting on a book, chapter or verse to let God talk to you about it. Ask God a question and see how He reveals the mysteries.

Question might be:

Let us stop and read a verse and ask God to light it up. Wait to get input from God. Then ask what they think they heard. It is possible not everyone will get an answer, but it is worth a try.

Sourdough Oatcakes

Oatcakes were the one of the staple foods of the Scottish, Welsh, and Irish. A savory biscuit/cracker. She changed the recipe to include a fermented, sourdough version. It helps in digesting thanks to the benefits of sourdough process. This process allows you to ferment overnight, for breakfast, prepare them the evening before.

I like that God is constantly fermenting us and nighttime is one of His favorite times to start the process in us.

Questions Might Be:
Have you tried any fermenting process?
What ways do your feel God is fermenting you?
Who wants to make the biscuits?

Blog February 24, 2023 Food for Thought about Food

Food is medicine, we need real foods. Food grown in good soils. When planning a garden only grow the foods that working your area and that your family will eat. Don’t plan a crop to harvest during your vacation. Plant extra to share. I say 1/3 for us, 1/3 for loss and 1/3 for the animal and friends.

Questions you might entertain discussion on:

  1. Do you grow food?
  2. What tricks have you learned?
  3. How do you use food for health?

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (New International Version)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
